Dear Friends of Amherst Books:
The spring semester is beginning & with it an influx of students & the possibility of a rise in Covid cases. Hence, we have decided for the safety of all to close for browsing from Tuesday, January 18th through Monday, February 15th.
Curbside pickup will still be available during our normal hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
& limited Monday hours during the textbook rush
We will continue taking orders by email (email@example.com; students please use firstname.lastname@example.org) or by telephone (413-256-1547), from 10:00 - 4:00, Tuesday through Saturday; if no one picks up during those hours we’re sometimes overwhelmed, please try again in a few minutes. After hours please call again the next day, we are not listening to messages.
We will continue curbside pickup, we will deliver to local addresses one day a week, & will mail books for a small fee.
We truly believe that books & bookstores are essential—especially in times of crisis. If you would like to order a
book but have a financial hardship, please reach out to us via email & we will try our best to make accommodations.
